About epoxy coatings
"Epoxy floor" is what most people call any coated garage, but epoxy is really one specific chemistry — often used as a durable base coat under a tougher topcoat. Professionally installed epoxy over a diamond-ground, repaired slab is a genuine, durable floor and nothing like a big-box DIY kit. Where epoxy has a weakness is sunlight (it can yellow) and cure speed. That's why many of our floors use an epoxy or polyurea base with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. We'll tell you plainly which system fits your floor and budget.

Timeline
Epoxy cures more slowly than polyaspartic, so an all-epoxy system may need more than one day and a longer wait before parking. We'll give you exact timing with your quote.
Durability
Professionally installed epoxy over prepped concrete is durable and long-lasting. Adding a polyaspartic topcoat improves UV and abrasion resistance further.
Maintenance
Sweep and damp mop. Sun-exposed all-epoxy floors may amber over time, which a polyaspartic topcoat prevents.

Is epoxy or polyaspartic better?+

Will epoxy yellow?+
All-epoxy topcoats can amber where sunlight reaches them. We prevent that by finishing sun-exposed floors with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat.
Is this the same as a store-bought epoxy kit?+
No. DIY kits are thin, water-based coatings applied over acid-etched concrete. We diamond-grind, repair, and apply professional-grade systems — a different product and a different lifespan.
